Disaster Recovery & Backup
Be confident you can recover quickly from outages, ransomware or data loss, because you have tested it.

Overview
Disaster recovery and backup protect your data and your ability to keep running when something goes wrong, whether that is hardware failure, a region outage, accidental deletion or ransomware. We design backup and DR strategies to defined recovery point and recovery time objectives, implement them across cloud and hybrid environments, and crucially test failover so recovery is proven, not assumed.
Methodology & Standards
Recovery point and recovery time objectives (RPO/RTO), the reliability pillar of the AWS Well-Architected Framework, immutable and air-gapped backup patterns for ransomware resilience, and NIST SP 800-34 contingency planning principles.

Frequently Asked Questions
A backup protects the data, but disaster recovery protects your ability to keep operating. DR covers how fast you bring systems back, in what order, and where. Without a tested DR plan you can have good backups and still face days of downtime restoring them.
We use immutable and where appropriate air-gapped backup copies that cannot be altered or deleted within their retention window, separate the backup account or credentials from production, and test restores regularly so an attacker who reaches production cannot also destroy your recovery point.
